Rick Stein Food Hero, Ramsay of Carluke – an award-winning bacon curer and butcher has just added to his collection with a further 6 gold awards for his bacon at the recent Butcher’s Trade Show 2009 in Perth.
Ramsay received the gold awards for his Smoked Back Bacon, Smoked Middle Bacon, Smoked Streaky Bacon, Smoked Pancetta, Free range Ayrshire Middle Bacon and Free Range Streaky Bacon.
Ramsay of Carluke is well known for their award-winning range, including their famous Black Pudding which was recently selected by Michelin Starred Chef Heston Blumenthal for his Television series Big Chef takes on Little Chef. The same product has also been acclaimed by Scottish chef Nick Nairn as “the best black pudding in Scotland”.
Ramsay has also recently launched his brand new garlic sausage which is also a gold medal winner, receiving an amazing 100/100 by the Guild of Q Butchers at the Smithfield Awards. The Garlic Sausage is made using Ramsay’s own secret recipe.
