Derby-based leading supplier of chilled and frozen ethnic ready meals, S&A Foods, has appointed a new sales director and finance director, to help bolster the company’s long term growth plans.

Mark Phillips 45, who arrives from Wellness Foods with an impressive track record of over 20 years within the food industry, joins the company as director of sales, whilst Julia Wilson 42, has been appointed director of finance, having arrived from the Derbyshire Building Society.

With a strong commercial sales background, Mark will work closely with S&A Foods’ retail customers and play an integral role in developing the company’s sales and marketing strategy. Mark also has extensive experience in the food manufacturing sector, having previously occupied senior director roles at Dairy Crest, RF Brookes and Northern Foods.

With 15 years experience in accounting and finance, Julia will be chiefly responsible for developing and implementing the company’s financial strategy. Having trained and qualified with KPMG at the beginning of her career, she then went on to occupy senior roles at Sara Lee Courtaulds, Synergy Healthcare and most recently at Derbyshire Building Society.

Both Mark and Julia report to managing director, David Page, who joined S&A Foods in January of this year.

Perween Warsi, owner and founder of S&A Foods, commented: “These two new key appointments will play an instrumental role in the future growth of S&A Foods and help support our ongoing commitment to food innovation and delivering the highest quality ethnic ready meals to consumers.”
